I read in the newspaper today that Twitter acquires third-party desktop client TweetDeck after months of rumors. Twitter paid $40 million in cash and stock for TweetDeck as the winner in a bidding war with rival UberMedia.

Eye-Fi has announced Twitter support that lets followers know when you have uploaded photos, along with a link to the new pics. These messages can even be customized for your friends to view, so feel free to concoct some funny and sarcastic remarks. Eye-Fi also enables users to publish their RSS feed of photos to Google Reader, My Yahoo!, bloglines, newsgator, Pageflakes and netvibes among others. Hopefully you won’t upload debauched photos in a moment of drunken madness for the world to see – perhaps there is a need for a built-in security feature like the Google Mail Goggles to prevent such moments. Firefox add-on to bring your messages together in one place, whether it is from email, SMS, Twitter or RSS/Atom feeds. The project is still buggy and only supports RSS/Atom feeds and Twitter but you can download it now. The current version shows messages in a three-paned window much like a traditional e-mail client and a river-of-news view. The point of Snowl is specifically to “help you follow and participate in online discussions.” [TechCrunch]
