Getting your website positioned as high as possible in SERP (Search Engine Result Pages) is one of the main goals for everyone who has a SEO strategy.

Statistics prove that the percentage of getting a click to your website keeps on reducing as the searcher moves down the result pages on a Search Engine.

What does a SEO friendly content have?

Uniqueness

Appropriate Language

Relevancy

Descriptiveness

Scanable & Skimmable structure – Lists or Bullet form

Presented in Q/A format

Powerful Keywords and their placement

Structured Flow

Proofread for any mistakes

SEO friendly content does not mean that you start writing for search engines. Write content that search engines would adore automatically. The first and most important rule of content writing strategy is to write for visitors and not for search engines. Search engines ultimate goal is to provide their users with the unique and most relevant content. They will prefer your content if it is written for users.

It is not a coincidence that writing strategy for good contents makes for SEO as well.

Uniqueness: Name a subject and you will find it on web, so dig deep and write something that you own. Something that makes you stand out of the regular web shops.

Appropriate Language: Write in the language of your prospect. The language determines the kind of visitor your site will attract. If you are writing for Business owners who are generally non-technical, write in plain business language. It is always easy to write if you know your readers.

Relevancy: Write what is relevant to your topic and business. Search engines have their own algorithm to check the relevancy of the content. Please avoid playing around with search engines. Even if you get successful in bringing few visitors to your site and they find the content irrelevant to their search, they will immediately bounce out of the site.

Descriptiveness: Descriptive here does not mean to start writing stories. Describe your services or products in an informative manner. Try to display important information with a link to the detailed information. This could give you an extra edge over your competitor

Scanable & Skimmable: Most of the web users do not read they just scan the web. Research shows that visitors read about 20% of content on a webpage. Write content which is easily scanable by readers. Some points to be kept in mind are-

Use of font color which is easy to the eyes

Variable Eye catching font sizes

Use list or bullets instead of paragraphs to improve recall value

Use of Headers and sub headers – can create interest

Presented in Q/A format: Present your content in a form of questions and answers. Most of the websites miss this opportunity to answer reader’s question and they land up increasing their bounce rate. This can be best done by addressing the user’s pain with a simple yet effective answer.

Powerful Keywords and their placement: Keywords play an important role in SEO strategy. Do not just sprinkle your keywords into the content rather build it around the selected keywords and phrases. The denser the keywords towards the top, the better they are. Use of synonyms is good, however, try them a little lower on your web page.

Structured Flow: It is very important to flow your visitors in a desired manner. Do not leave them to search their way. Guide them with doorways. Do linking within your content that makes the visitor flow with the content. This is called Flow design.

Proofread: Do proofreading to give an additional support to all your writing and SEO efforts. The spelling and grammar errors make your content look unprofessional.

It is the number of inbound links which is directly related to the popularity of the website. The more the back link building, the more famous it will be on the World Wide Web. Search engines like Yahoo and Google also trust quality bound inbound links. Link building is a painfully slow but continuous process happening over a period of time. Try and create excellent content for your website to help build links faster. There are some SEO companies available which can help you increase the credibility of your site at a reasonable amount.

Make sure that if you are taking the services of a reputed SEO firm, it also offers you good discounts on bulk orders. Always try back link building slowly as it would not get banned by the search engines in this process. Building links is one of the most important factors to determine your position in the search engines.

Effective Back Link Building

One of the easiest and fastest ways of building back links is to buy them.

The websites from where you can buy these back links are available on the Google search engine.

Ensure that the keywords you are targeting are present in the links that you purchase. The exact keywords should figure somewhere in the text of the bought back link.

Try and keep your back link short and concise. By this, you would not confuse the search engine spiders and the web checking link popularity. Check for banned links before purchasing back links, as buying a banned link would, in turn, ban your website also. By back link building, you can find your site’s rank with the updates of the Google Page Rank algorithm. Try Any Recommended Search engine optimization Software. for this ranking analyzing .The updates done every few months would result in a higher ranking for the desired keyword with the search engines.

Other than buying back links, you can also consider these points for building inbound links for your site. Ask for links via a phone or email. You can even swap links with other webmasters. Register your site with a number of directories, so that other websites can connect to you. Last but not the least, write articles and press releases and submit them to PR sites and Ezine directories. All these methods would surely help you in the effective back link building of your site.

Many website owners scour the web looking for decent sites that can link back to them. Sometimes, the best links are those right under your nose, or at least, next door. SEO relies on backlinks as a corner stone of search rankings. Backlinks in theory should be relevant – but relevant to what? Keywords? Content? What about location?

If you have a bricks and mortar business then you should be listing in the various local directories. They should also be one of the first places you look at when it comes to link building. There are several non SEO activities may also help you link building strategies.

We talk about being social and getting involved with social media. Sometimes, the key is being active and social in your local community. It could be regularly participating in a local chamber of commerce association. Sponsoring events such as school, church, arts or sporting. These all help to increase your profile within the community.

If you include a blog on your site that broadcasts these activities, you may find a lot of local bloggers linking to you. You will certainly find many of the local organizations linking to your site. Once you have developed a profile within your community, asking other local businesses for a link should become a breeze.

Whilst the links may not be strictly content related, ’support your local community’ type links may deliver the same benefits. SEO relies on links to develop search rankings; your local community may be able to help you. [SEO Journal]

If you are operating an online business then you have an opportunity to create content that is not only of value to your readers, it can be an effective SEO resource to develop links.

Build a Resource Directory
If you are going to build a resource directory then you need to be sure it really is a resource directory and not just a list of links. A list of useless links will do more damage to your sites credibility and provide nothing of value to your readers. From an SEO perspective, all links in your directory should be to related sites in your niche.

When creating your directory, spend some time and do properly. A list of site names with links, while providing a resource to visitors, is no different to a blog roll. Good directories that will encourage others to link back needs to be informative and provide value. Include the following information in your link directory:

link to their websites

contact information

a map and street directions to their off line business

brief summary of services

It may take 20-30 minutes to create each link in the directory, however, once completed your directory will look very professional, provide a wealth of information for your visitors, and prove to be the perfect link bait for other sites. If you limit the number of links to only the best sites, you will suddenly find other related businesses requesting inclusion as part of their SEO program. You are in a position then to dictate the terms of your links.

Create an Industry News Section
If you stay up-to-date with all the news in your industry, provide a page or series of pages that publish all the latest information. Try to keep your reporting unbiased be sure to only publish facts. If the information is based on rumor then be sure to clearly state that it is a rumor.

If you are publishing news on a regular basis, others from within your niche will comes to recognize your pages as a one-stop-shop for industry news. With this reputation will come links particularly as others start using your news articles in their content (with links of course). News articles can also be useful to promote on social media sites.

Many businesses utilize a blog to publish directories and industry or business news. Whilst the blog is a perfect tool for these tasks, it can be done through standard web pages. From a search engine optimization point of view there are pro’s and con’s to both. If you have the time and resources to maintain a blog then there are opportunities to publish information on a wider scale. Whether it is a blog or through your web site, effectively done, these two tips can really boost your search engine optimization link building strategies.

Reading IT related article in the office especially SEO is my daily habit before doing my designing job. I’ve read this “Ultimate Link Building Guide to SEO” article in SEO Journal and helps me a lot. Here are the guides for link building:

10: Link Farm: Link farms are outdated and generally result in search engine penalties. No longer worth thinking about.

09: Paid Reviews: There is an old saying in the IT world – GIGO – garbage in garbage out. Generally speaking paid reviews are poorly written articles on non-relevant sites. If you can get a good review on highly ranked relevant site then you may get value for your money – otherwise treat with caution.

08: Text Link Ads: There can be value in obtaining text link ads but these are generally from low ranking sites. As with the paid reviews, obtaining text link ads on high ranking related sites may be of value.

07: Link Solicitation: Obtaining links from related sites by solicitation can be difficult. You need to be able to prove to the site owner that there is a mutual benefit. The higher the site ranks the harder it can become. However this can provide a good cross section of related sites.

06: Hand Edited Directories: DMOZ and Yahoo are two of the major directories. DMOZ can take up to 12 months to get listed. Yahoo!, whilst a paid listing, remains reasonably good value. Directory links seem to have been reduced in value recently.

05: Article Directories: Article directories are hit and miss. You can spend hours putting together a series of articles only to find that most of them get scraped without any links back to your site. When the article is used legitimately you have no control as to the sites relevance or reliability.

04: Social Bookmarking: Having your site listed and voted on in some of the social bookmarking sites can provide some benefits to your link building campaign. Many social bookmarking sites incorporate ‘nofollow’ so don’t rely on them for masses of links. The traffic generated by lead to an increase in organic links.

03: Press Releases: Press releases can provide a quick lift in rankings. If the press release is well written and provides a little spark then you may find an increase in traffic along with an increase in organic links.

02: Edu and Gov sites: Obtaining links from these sites can be hard. The more important the link location the higher value. For example, a link in and Edu report or research paper is highly prized.

01: Blended Link Building: Blended link building incorporates a variety of strategies. The aim is to obtain links from a variety of sources, each with varying ranking factors but all from relevant web pages where possible.

Blended link building can be slow and tedious but it does produce great long term website rankings in the major search engines.
